Rebellion Against God
God’s story, as given to us in the Bible, is one of a perfect world lost through our rebellion, with God’s persistent multi-millennial rescue mission, filled with grace and love to bring humanity back to Himself.
In the Book of Genesis, we learn that God created a “very good” world where we would live in a direct relationship with Him. Adam and Eve were the first humans He created and gave them (humanity) dominion over the world with one commandment: Not to eat of the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil”.
But they choose to define "good and evil" for themselves and did eat of that forbidden tree, leading to a break in humanity’s relationship with God. Tragically, this rebellious choice introduced sin, death, and decay into the world – evident to this present day.

Even in this tragedy, God promised a "Savior" to rescue us and who will eventually crush the power of evil forever.

That Savior’s name is Jesus!
For God So Loved The World
According to John 3:16-17, Jesus said: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus paid the price for our rebellion against God and offers the only way for each one of us to be saved from eternal damnation. In His death and resurrection, Jesus provided the way for us and the world to have communion directly with God!

GOD'S
SALVATION
Unearned

Salvation - A Free Gift
Salvation is a free gift from God, received by believers through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gift of salvation rescues and saves us from the penalty and power of sin, offering justification and eternal life with Christ.
Salvation is not earned by human works (John 14:6; Acts 16:30-31; Ephesians 2:5, 8). But, to be saved each person must accept God’s free gift of salvation, paid for by the blood of our Savior. It is the greatest gift to the world!

Salvation is not earned by prayer, but received by faith in the finished work of Christ. Prayer is often the way we express that faith.
To receive the free gift of salvation, we must first hear the Gospel—the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection (Ephesians 1:13) —then in faith, confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead.

The Christian doctrine of “salvation” is absolutely essential to our faith. It’s our core belief—while being unique in its reliance on grace through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Life-Altering Steps To Salvation
Transitioning from "believing" that God exists to having faith in and a "committed relationship" with Jesus, usually involves a few practical, life-altering steps. These are not checkboxes; they are outward expressions of your internally spiritual shift in response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Committing To Accept And Follow Jesus
Baptism
Integration Into The Church Community
-
Acknowledge Your Need: Recognize you are a sinner and cannot fix your relationship with God through your own efforts (Romans 3:23).
-
Repent & Believe: Repentance and faith go together: we repent by turning away from sin and self-reliance, and we believe by trusting in Jesus Christ—His death and resurrection—as our only hope of salvation (Mark 1:15; Acts 20:21).
-
Have Faith in Jesus: Have faith that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9, John 3:16).
-
Confess & Commit: Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior of your life. (Romans 10:9-10, 1 John 1:9).
-
Receive by Faith: Accept this free gift from God through belief, not by good works.
Baptism, where a person is immersed in water, is an outward symbol. It is the expression of a believer’s chosen faith in Jesus Christ, as we are buried with Jesus and resurrected to new life. It represents:
-
Death: Dying to your old, self-centered way of life.
-
Resurrection: Being "raised" to a new life with a clean slate.
Because the Bible describes the Church as the "body of Christ" (1 Cor 12:12-27, Rom 12:4-5), the next step is almost always finding a local church community that is Biblically based. This provides:
-
Mentorship: Learning how to read the Bible and pray.
-
Accountability: Having friends who support your spiritual growth and walk with Christ.

Church
If you have accepted God’s free gift of salvation by confessing in faith that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, it is important that you fellowship with other Christians, to grow in your faith in prayer and studying God’s Word, and to come together as the Church to worship God.
Ask God to lead and guide you to a Bible-believing church where you can learn from His Word more about His love for you and fellowship with other Christians.
If you are located in or around Melbourne, Florida, we would be blessed if you chose Life’s Oasis Church as your home church.

Simply joining a church does not save us—important as it is to do so. Only Jesus Christ can save. Our faith and hope must be in Him alone.
